About the Job

This role represents a critical next step in MEI’s evolution toward offering direct, end-to-end services to Fortune 500 corporates, public entities, nonprofits, and other private customers alike and building out development pipelines to finance renewable energy projects with our development partners.

The Senior Project Manager role at MEI oversees dynamic distributed renewable energy and/or battery storage projects within one of the United States' fastest-growing energy industries. This role will leverage expertise in management of renewable energy and/or battery storage projects across their development, design, and construction. These projects vary in size and complexity, encompassing everything from smaller rooftops to expansive ground-mounted systems spanning the nation. What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Accurately identify and resolve critical construction conditions, risks, and issues using internal and external resources, while maintaining accurate documentation
  • Review, interpret and act upon contractual conditions set forth in EPCA, power purchase and site control agreements, as well other pertinent contractual documents.
  • Work with Project Managers to develop comprehensive project schedules involving engineering, suppliers, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Monitor and manage, as needed, pertinent subcontractor and supplier agreements as well as construction activities to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget through site visits, meetings, and accurate documentation.
  • Act as MEI's representative and effectively lead progress in all project meetings.
  • Manage P&L for construction group and ensure cost control for subcontractors.
  • Serve as a liaison providing leadership for Project managers to effectively communicate with clients to build and maintain strong relationships
  • Cultivate and uphold robust relationships with project managers, vendors, trade partners, customers, and contractors.
  • Utilize digital tools to track task completion and manage invoices to ensure suppliers and subcontractors are paid appropriately.
  • Direct and guide the project team to ensure that project objectives and priorities are understood, and plans are formed and executed.
  • Work with internal teams to ensure engineering plans are developed per technical specifications, customer expectations and contractual requirements.
  • Evaluate and negotiates requested Change Orders from subcontractors, and secure Change Orders from clients as appropriate
  • Ensure projects are built safely and in compliance with MEI standards as well as applicable laws and regulations.
  • Provide company leadership concise, accurate project status and actionable intelligence of potential problems.
  • Contributes actively to process improvement and to the development of the company’s set of Project Management tools
  • Support leadership with recommendations on process improvement, and utilization of resources.
  • As directed, evaluate project risk through formal analysis prior to contract execution.
  • Familiar with relevant codes and standards (NEC, IBC, etc.).
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project closing.
What We Are Looking For:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Building Construction, Electrical or Mechanical engineering degree or equivalent education/experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience managing Photovoltaic construction projects, BESS projects or other transferrable construction experience.
  • At least 3 years of direct supervisory experience
  • Previous experience with rooftop or ground mount projects
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in interpreting technical documents, blueprints, and project plans to derive accurate estimations, ensuring alignment with project objectives.

$150,000 - $180,000 a year
Actual salary offered may vary depending on job-related factors including, but not limited to, knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

Location: Moorestown, NJ or Vienna, VA (hybrid - 4 days onsite)
